Defence Development: Gap, Angling and Retrievals

Effective defence starts before the puck reaches the dangerous area. A good gap gives a defender time and options; angling guides the play toward support; a clean retrieval turns pressure into possession. At HAC, we teach players to scan, communicate and arrive under control. The best defensive play is often an early read that makes the next play easier. These habits help defenders become confident partners who can defend hard and contribute to offence.
